Reflection of Assessment criteria 5

Demonstration of technical and Visual skills – Materials, techniques, observational skills, visual awareness, design and compositional skills.

I would say that I am very competent in my technical and visual skills.  I have used a range of materials and techniques as well as made series of drawings at different sizes and in different styles and approaches.  I have explored composition, view points and angles, trying to observe things technically as well as emotionally and impressionistically.

Quality of Outcome – Content, application of knowledge, presentation of work in a coherent manner, discernment, conceptualisation of thoughts, communication of ideas.

I have competently conceptualised my thoughts and communicated my ideas using a range of media and techniques.  I have used judgement and time management to assess different tasks and situations.  I have presented my work to the best advantage possible, trying to photograph it professionally as possible in strong natural light, or scanning it when the size fits the scanner.

Demonstration of Creativity – Imagination, experimentation, invention, development of a personal voice.

I have been creative and used my imagination, in preliminary studies and exercises as well as my assessment drawing outcome.  I used mixed media to create an imaginative outcome which reflects a formal and emotional response to the room in the drawing, as well as showing my developing personal voice.

Context – Reflection, research, critical thinking (learning logs).

I have written down notes of self-reflection and research in my check and log places, as well as  my “research point” pages and my “research and reflection” pages.  I have tried to be analytical and develop my understanding of other artists of the current art world and of art history and how that can relate to my work and influence me.
